ESL

This class provides trainees who have limited English proficiency the opportunity to gain English language and acculturation skills. It is intended that they can then complete the full range of Job Corps training and employability.

Trainees will learn to ask and respond to questions, communicate in routine social and work environments, pronounce words clearly, know the basics of grammar, understand conversation and follow basic oral instructions at a reasonable speed, understand and accurately relate telephone messages, and read and understand material on familiar topics.

Our ESL classes are taught at off-campus by the San Jose Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP).
