Hi Kids!!

Welcome to the 5th week of "5 Minutes per Week"!
Can you believe we are nearly there? We are thrilled to be able to reach out to you and impressed with your involvement in Texas Government and seeing how it can work for you! A prayer before we start this week's activity in honor of Earth day last Wednesday:

Dear Lord,

We feel your presence in each day and want to thank you for all that spring days bring: Sunny skies, birds chirping, flowers blooming and most of all - - family and friends to share it all with! Help us to continue to appreciate those that mean so much to us and that care about us as deeply.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, AMEN

Catholic Social Teaching for the Week (in honor of Earth day): Care for God’s Creation:

We are called to protect people and the planet. Last week you told us what bills were most important to you. Now that you told us - we want you to tell your representatives! This week we want you all to know how to put your thoughts clearly into a letter that lets them know what’s important to you. Check out the sample letters that we’ve attached. Remember that they are samples…you can write it anyway that you’d like but we suggest you follow the general outline (name of legislator & date at the top etc). We’ve included an adult type of letter as well in case your parents want an idea of how to write to their representative. If you have trouble opening these letters, let us know!

Thanks! The "5 Minutes Per Week" team
